How does the profit distribution work?

Last update: 2025-10-02

Payment
If you work at Albert Heijn, you will receive a profit-sharing bonus. The profit-sharing bonus is a minimum of 45% and a maximum of 130% of your average period salary. The exact percentage varies each year based on performance compared to the forecast at the beginning of the year.

If you have a contract for less than 12 hours per week, you will already receive an advance of 3.46% on your hours with your all-in salary. If you have a contract for more than 12 hours, you will receive this advance in period 12. The advance is 45%. The additional payment (the supplementary part) will be paid out in period 3. The amount depends on the total profit distribution.

To receive the advance payment of the profit distribution, you must be employed on the last day of period 12 and the first day of period 13. If you have received the advance payment, you will receive the additional part in period 3, regardless of whether you are still employed or not.
